Irish Beach Improvement Club

The Irish Beach Improvement Club (IBIC) is a 501c4 mutual benefit, non-profit corporation that was incorporated in 1966.  The Articles of Incorporation state that the specific business in which the corporation is primarily engaged is to initiate, sponsor, promote and carry out plans, policies and activities which will tend to further the prosperity and development of the Irish Beach Section of the Mendocino Coast.

The IBIC By-Laws define the eligibility of membership and the qualification and admission of membership.  Owners of lots within the boundaries of Irish Beach, whose lots have been accepted by the Irish Beach Water District and/or the Irish Beach Architectural Design Committee are eligible for membership in the Club.

The IBIC Board of Directors is elected by the membership on the basis of one vote per membership, and one membership can be purchased by the owner for each lot owned.  The intent was to allow vacant lot owners to participate in the activities of IBIC.

IBIC is responsible for maintenance and care for the common areas that have been deeded to the club.  The common areas consist of:  1)  the beach roads which provide access by automobile to Irish Beach.  2) Pomo Lake and the associated park which provides a place for picnics, a walking trail around the lake and a place for modest fishing.  3) Gazebo  Park (renamed Founder's Park) which provides an attractive area for community picnics.  The club is also responsible for the cleanup of a two-mile section of Highway 1 and a similar routine cleanup of Irish Beach.

IBIC Board of Directors also has the important responsibility of appointing persons to the Irish Beach Architectural Design Committee (IBADC) which governs new home construction and exterior improvements on existing homes.

Currently membership in IBIC requires an initiation fee of $150 and annual dues of $175, or $250 in annual dues for rental homes.  The IBIC fiscal year runs from April 1 to March 31.

Copies of the Irish Beach Bylaws are available for members and owners of property in Irish Beach and can be obtained from IBIC, P.O. Box 237, Manchester, CA  95459
